Kering seeks Senior Group Corporate Counsel in Shanghai to lead real estate legal affairs and corporate governance for the luxury group across Mainland China.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on real estate matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial leases, consignment agreements, and related documentation
- Partner with business teams on store planning, construction, and fit-out projects while identifying and managing legal risks
- Support cross-functional stakeholders including real estate, retail, finance, tax, and operations teams throughout real estate project lifecycles
- Lead and coordinate external counsel in real estate transactions and disputes
- Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory developments relating to real estate and commercial operations in China
- Assist with corporate governance and company secretarial matters, including maintaining corporate records, preparing shareholder resolutions, and managing filings for legal entities and branches in China
- Collaborate with corporate counsel across the Asia Pacific region on regional legal initiatives and maintain regional alignment
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members to support their professional development
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal business and legal partners, as well as external resources
Qualifications
- LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree
- Admission to the PRC Bar
- Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience in a similar position
- Experience with a reputable corporate law firm or multinational company with primary focus on real estate-related legal services
- Good understanding of leasing and construction-related laws and regulations
- Knowledge of legal practices in dispute resolution
- Strong contract and policy drafting skills
- Strong legal research capabilities
- Ability to produce clear and succinct written legal analysis and business communications
- Ability to handle disputes and litigation matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Skills
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification legal experience in a senior position, preferably in a reputable corporate law firm or multinational organization, with a demonstrated focus on real estate-related legal services, lease negotiations, and construction matters. Experience working under pressure with limited resources and handling disputes and litigation is essential.
Education
LLB (Bachelor of Laws) degree required; admission to the PRC Bar is mandatory.
