Kering Eyewear hiring Senior Prototyper in Padova, Italy. Lead eyewear prototype development with innovative solutions and technical expertise.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute eyewear prototypes according to technical specifications and collection timelines defined by the brand portfolio, with emphasis on schedule adherence, quality assurance, and cost efficiency
- Identify, assess, and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks in prototype development projects, proposing innovative solutions regarding resources, equipment, and production methodologies
- Lead research initiatives into emerging prototyping technologies and materials in partnership with selected suppliers, recommending enhancements to ongoing projects
- Contribute strategic insights to product development meetings, driving the achievement of collection objectives and ensuring deliverables exceed brand standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in eyewear and/or fine jewelry prototyping
- Advanced proficiency in operating precision machinery and instrumentation used in prototype development
- Comprehensive knowledge of metals, plastics, and natural materials including wood and horn
- Demonstrated commitment to design excellence and a track record of fostering innovation in prototyping processes
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in eyewear and/or jewelry prototyping, with demonstrated expertise in operating industrial machinery and managing prototype development from concept through production specification.
Education
Technical training or vocational qualification in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related field is preferred.
Workplace
This position is based in Padova, Veneto, Italy, within easy reach of Venice.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 40,000 per annum.
