Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build, and continuously evolve core Data Platform components and services, including self-service capabilities, reusable frameworks, governance mechanisms, and automation tools while ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with platform standards
- Drive adoption and evolution of engineering best practices by collaborating with Chapters and communities of practice, supporting domain teams, and providing technical expertise to facilitate effective platform utilization
- Contribute to architecture decisions through creation and review of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure consistency, robustness, and alignment with enterprise architecture principles
- Embed governance-by-design principles into platform services and components to promote adoption of Group policies and standards related to security, compliance, and FinOps
- Ensure platform reliability, performance, and operational excellence by leading incident resolution, implementing preventive measures, and continuously strengthening observability, resilience, and service quality
- Collaborate closely with the Data Platform Product Owner and stakeholders to prioritize requirements, contribute to roadmap definition, and drive continuous improvement of platform services
Qualifications
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar Data Platform Engineering or cloud infrastructure role
- Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern data services including BigQuery, dbt, Dataflow, Airflow, Datastream, and Pub/Sub, with ability to design, deploy, and operate large-scale solutions
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with hands-on production experience designing and operating services and capabilities at scale
- Solid expertise in Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform
- Experience with Generative AI technologies and AI-Assisted Engineering practices (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools)
- Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL data storage technologies with strong understanding of data modeling, performance, and scalability
- Expertise in automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices to ensure reliable, high-quality deployments
- Understanding of engineering and operational best practices including Agile, Data Engineering, DevOps, ITIL, and FinOps
- Experience working in Agile environments with proficiency in collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence

Experience
At least 3 years of experience in a similar Data Platform Engineering or cloud infrastructure role, with significant hands-on experience in Cloud and Data environments. The candidate should demonstrate strong expertise in modern data architectures, platform engineering principles, and large-scale distributed systems. Production experience designing and operating mission-critical data services is essential.
Education
Master's degree (Bac+5 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Cloud certification is a strong advantage.
