Kering seeks Customs and Transport Manager in Tokyo, Japan. Lead logistics operations, customs compliance, and transportation management for the global luxury group.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervise all import and export customs operations for Japan and ensure full compliance with customs regulations, trade requirements, and internal policies
  • Oversee the performance of customs brokers, freight forwarders, and domestic carriers; manage vendor relationships and service-level agreements
  • Manage domestic transportation and last-mile delivery operations while leading network optimization and capacity planning initiatives
  • Monitor customs, freight, and transportation expenditures; support logistics budgeting, forecasting, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Prepare and present cost analysis, performance reports, and KPI dashboards to management on a regular basis
  • Supervise daily team activities, workload allocation, and service performance; provide operational guidance and coaching
  • Lead logistics-related projects including customs operational stabilization, domestic transportation RFPs, and SAP implementation
  • Define business requirements, coordinate with IT vendors and stakeholders, and participate in UAT and system validation activities
  • Support tariff classification, valuation, origin determination, and customs audits to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Explore artificial intelligence and digital solutions to improve operational efficiency in customs inquiry management and reduce manual tasks

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in customs, transportation, freight forwarding, or logistics operations
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of import/export regulations, customs compliance procedures, and transportation management
  • Proven track record managing customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics service providers
  • Experience leading logistics projects and process improvement initiatives; SAP implementation or warehouse transition experience is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Power BI or other data visualization tools is preferred

Experience

Secondary education (high school diploma or equivalent) is required. Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
