Kering hiring Assistant Accountant – Accounts Payable in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Fluent English and Japanese required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute batch payments with pre- and post-payment controls checks prior to and following payment runs
- Process emergency payments in accordance with established exceptions and payment control procedures before bank cut-off times
- Perform manual payments by inputting transactions into bank portals and maintain comprehensive payment logs
- Support peers and cover for colleagues during peak periods and as operationally required
- Resolve stakeholder inquiries and requests from Invoice Processing Teams, Brands, and Vendors within two business days
- Assist with implementation of new Accounts Payable and Treasury processes and systems
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure adherence to internal control programs, accounting principles, and Shared Service Centre standards
- Train new team members and share subject matter expertise to foster team capability development
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal brands and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or MIA)
- 1–2 years of prior accounts payable, payment processing, or related accounting experience
- Business proficiency in English and Japanese language skills—reading, writing, and speaking (JLPT N2–N3 minimum)
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of SAP, particularly FI/CO modules
- Knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of chart of accounts, profit and loss, and balance sheet reporting
- Understanding of inter-company recharge principles and accounting rules
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity tools
- Industry or shared services experience is advantageous

Experience
1–2 years of prior relevant experience in accounts payable, payment processing, or related accounting functions. Experience in luxury goods, shared services, or multinational operating environments is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, or MIA).
