Kering seeks an Accounting Coordinator in Mexico City to oversee financial operations for two legal entities, manage closings, ensure tax compliance, and supervise an accounting team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily accounting activities for two Mexican legal entities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing processes
- Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and ERP postings
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank, receivables, payables, taxes, payroll, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts
- Monitor outstanding and aged reconciliation items and coordinate timely resolution
- Review trial balances, identify unusual movements, and prepare account analyses
- Prepare and review financial reports for management, regional, and corporate stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting and tax requirements including CFDI, VAT, and withholding taxes
- Support monthly and annual tax reconciliations with the Tax team and external advisors
- Coordinate audit requests and prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation standards
- Identify accounting risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities
- Participate in automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain accounting procedures, checklists, reconciliations, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Partner with Finance, Tax, Procurement, Treasury, Payroll, IT, and Brand teams to resolve accounting matters
- Supervise and support the Accounting Analyst with priority setting, deliverable monitoring, and coaching
- Ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of critical accounting activities during closings and absences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least four years of experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Controllership
- Solid knowledge of Mexican accounting standards and basic tax requirements
- Experience with month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Knowledge of CFDI validation, VAT, and withholding taxes
- Experience supporting internal or external audits and maintaining documentation
- SAP experience strongly preferred; ERP system knowledge required
- Previous experience coordinating or supervising junior team members
- Experience supporting South American or Caribbean entities is an advantage
Skills
Experience
At least four years of experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Controllership, or with a Big Four accounting firm. Demonstrated experience with month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience supporting internal or external audits, maintaining appropriate documentation, and managing ERP systems. Previous experience supervising or coordinating junior accounting staff is required. Knowledge of Mexican accounting standards, CFDI, VAT, and withholding taxes is essential. Experience with South American or Caribbean entities is considered an advantage.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
