Kenzo in Paris seeks a Senior Knitwear Designer to lead Men’s & Women’s Pre-Collection knitwear design and development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of Men’s and Women’s knitwear Pre-Collections and seasonal knitwear capsules, translating the House’s creative direction into product.
- Generate conceptual, vintage, technical and iconographic research to build seasonal directions, mood boards and knitwear storylines.
- Translate graphics, artworks and visual research into knitwear-led concepts, textiles and fully developed garments.
- Propose original yarn developments, silhouettes, constructions and added-value knitwear techniques each season.
- Manage projects end-to-end from initial concept, sketching and fittings through technical development to final product execution.
- Run and lead fittings with close attention to garment construction, proportion and product quality.
- Collaborate daily with Product Development, RTW Pre-Collection teams, Graphics & Artwork, Merchandising and Production to ensure alignment and timely launches.
- Build and manage relationships with yarn suppliers, European and Asian mills and factories; coordinate technical requirements and development timelines.
- Work with factories and yarn mills throughout the development process to ensure creative intent is technically achievable and delivered to quality standards.
- Research and develop specialised finishes, embellishment techniques and other knitwear innovations.
- Support collection planning, organisation and process improvements within the Knitwear Department.
- Support the Head of Knitwear in driving the creative vision and execution of the Pre-Collection category.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years' professional experience as a knitwear designer in luxury fashion, with demonstrable expertise across both Men’s and Women’s knitwear.
- Deep technical knowledge of knitwear techniques, yarns, garment construction and product development processes.
- Proven experience working directly with European yarn mills and suppliers; attendance at trade fairs such as Pitti Filati is highly valued.
- Practical experience liaising with factories and managing technical development timelines; experience with Chinese mills appreciated.
- High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and confident use of design and presentation tools throughout the development process.
- Excellent organisational skills, strong communication, and the ability to perform under fast-paced, demanding schedules while maintaining product quality.
- Conceptual thinker with an ability to translate research into commercially and creatively relevant knitwear collections.

Experience
Minimum eight years as a knitwear designer within luxury or high-end fashion, with hands-on experience working with European yarn mills and factories; prior collaboration with Asian mills (China) and attendance at industry fairs such as Pitti Filati is advantageous.
Education
Degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or related discipline; advanced training or proven specialist experience in knitwear and textile development preferred.
