Lip Lab (Kendo) — Assistant Store Manager, Upper East Side, New York. Full‑time hourly role ($22–$24/hr + tips) leading retail operations and guest experiences.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in driving sales performance and store KPIs, analysing trends (AOV, payroll, conversion) and implementing corrective action plans.
- Create and manage weekly schedules aligned to sales forecasts and payroll targets; monitor timecards and manage time‑off requests.
- Oversee the guest booking system and party booking process; handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Coach, train and develop Leads and frontline team members; provide on-the-spot feedback to foster growth and accountability.
- Serve as Manager on Duty, running all store operations and stepping in as a Color Expert to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing and onboarding; partner with Store Manager and HR on performance management when required.
- Promote a culture of recognition and team motivation through positive reinforcement and company recognition programmes.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and maintain hygiene, safety and operational standards.
- Represent Lip Lab and Kendo values with professional conduct at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience with demonstrable team leadership and delegation skills.
- Proven ability to drive sales, meet targets and translate KPI analysis into actionable store plans.
- Strong coaching and performance‑management capability, including experience training frontline staff and developing leads.
- Excellent guest‑service mentality with a positive, proactive and energetic approach to creating memorable experiences.
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Word, Outlook and Google Docs; comfortable using booking or point‑of‑sale systems.
- Open availability including weekends and holidays; ability to travel for company events or training as required.
- Ability to meet physical demands of role (stand/walk 6–8 hours per shift; occasionally lift 10–50 lbs; bend, kneel, reach).
Skills
Experience
At least 2 years of retail management experience, including supervising teams, managing scheduling and payroll, driving KPI performance, and delivering high‑volume, guest‑facing service. Experience in team training, development and basic performance management is required.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, hospitality or a related field is a plus.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 22 to USD 24 per hour.
