Role & Responsibilities
- Greet and engage customers with warmth and confidence; provide informed styling advice and create complete looks that integrate Kate Spade assortments.
- Actively listen and ask targeted questions to uncover customer needs and recommend add‑ons to increase basket size.
- Drive sales through storytelling, product knowledge and one‑to‑one client advisory; close transactions accurately via POS.
- Support omni-channel initiatives by adopting virtual selling techniques and leveraging social media when appropriate.
- Maintain operational excellence on the sales floor and in the stockroom, including replenishment, organization and inventory control.
- Deliver an efficient and seamless checkout experience and uphold loss‑prevention and cash‑handling procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule—including nights, weekends, peak retail periods and public holidays—to meet business needs.
- Perform routine physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally), bending, kneeling and moving merchandise.
Qualifications
- Proven interpersonal and professional selling skills with a customer-first orientation.
- Prior experience in a retail environment, preferably in fashion, accessories or lifestyle categories.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills; able to build rapport quickly with diverse clientele.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize under pressure and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Comfort with social media and willingness to learn omni-channel and virtual selling methods.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule tailored to peak trading hours and seasonal demands.
Skills
Experience
Previous retail sales experience is required; experience in styling, client advisory or fashion-focused customer service is strongly preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary coursework in fashion, merchandising, retail or a related field is advantageous.
