Kate Spade New York seeks a Temporary Retail Associate in Carlsbad, CA (part-time) to deliver styling-led customer service at Carlsbad Premium Outlets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage guests with warmth and product expertise; build rapport and discover individual customer needs.
- Provide personalised styling advice and create complete looks, suggesting complementary items to increase basket size.
- Demonstrate and narrate product attributes across categories to support storytelling-led selling.
- Execute sales transactions and ensure a seamless checkout experience using POS systems.
- Maintain operational standards: organise the sales floor and stockroom, receive and process inventory, and execute visual merchandising directions.
- Adopt omni-channel and virtual selling practices when required and promote brand channels to customers.
- Support loss-prevention, store housekeeping and safe manual handling of merchandise (regular lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifts up to 50 lbs).
Qualifications
- Professional selling skills with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Prior experience in a retail environment; styling or fashion-focused retail experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, high-traffic periods and public holidays as required.
- Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and perform physical tasks on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
- English proficiency (local language proficiency acceptable per market).

Experience
Prior retail experience is required; demonstrated success driving sales through customer connections is preferred. Familiarity with omni-channel selling or social-driven customer engagement is a plus.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in fashion, merchandising or retail management is advantageous.
