Kate Spade New York seeks a Temporary Stylist to serve as a knowledgeable advisor assisting customers in discovering and selecting products aligned with their personal aesthetic and lifestyle. The role encompasses customer engagement through styling consultation, providing product recommendations, suggesting coordinated looks, and guiding customers through purchase decisions while maintaining operational excellence in the retail environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and confidently while demonstrating comprehensive product knowledge across all Kate Spade categories
- Actively listen to customer needs and ask insightful follow-up questions to understand individual style preferences and lifestyle requirements
- Provide personalized styling advice, suggest complementary add-ons, and create complete coordinated looks tailored to customer aesthetics
- Showcase multiple styling approaches and encourage customers to explore new styles through creative product presentation
- Guide customers through the purchase decision process and ensure a seamless checkout experience
- Reinforce customer choices and build loyalty by inviting customers to return to the store
- Drive sales results through authentic customer connections and compelling brand storytelling
- Maintain deep knowledge of brand heritage, product attributes, and seasonal collections across all categories
- Manage stockroom organization and POS transactions to maintain operational excellence
- Provide and receive feedback in a constructive, professional manner
Qualifications
- Professional selling skills with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Prior experience in a retail environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work collaboratively in a team setting
- Social media awareness and willingness to learn omnichannel and virtual selling techniques
- English proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, busy seasons, and public holidays
- Physical capability to lift at least 25 lbs. regularly (up to 50 lbs. occasionally) and maneuver sales floor and stockroom
Skills
Experience
Prior experience in a retail environment is required. Experience in luxury fashion retail or fashion styling is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 15 to USD 19.50 per hour.
