Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of a personal and team client base through proactive relationship-building and business development initiatives, conducting monthly client book reviews to ensure consistent outreach and revenue generation
- Oversee all retail operations including store opening and closing procedures, cash handling, bank deposits, register management, and facility security
- Hire, train, and motivate a qualified sales team to represent the Kate Spade New York brand effectively; provide coaching on the sales training process and ensure exceptional customer service standards
- Provide development and mentorship to the assistant manager and supervisor through assigned accountabilities, consistent follow-up, and quarterly performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with all clientele standards, including thank you note policies and sales training program completion
- Implement and maintain visual merchandising directives and brand aesthetic standards throughout the store environment
- Analyze selling reports and business trends regarding inventory assortment and stock levels; communicate opportunities and customer feedback to district leadership
- Maintain payroll budgets and weekly scheduling to ensure optimal sales floor coverage while meeting operational needs
- Supervise accurate and timely processing of markdowns, transfers, damages, shipping, and receiving to maintain inventory integrity
- Oversee loss prevention policies and procedures to ensure 100% compliance
- Network and build positive community relationships to support business growth, brand awareness, and talent pipeline development
- Attend approximately two annual company management meetings
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of management experience in luxury goods or a comparable retail environment
- Proficiency in Windows-based software including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to analyze selling reports and identify business trends with rapid decision-making capability
- Professional sales development expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership qualities with effective communication across all organizational levels
- Ability to mediate conflict and make sound decisions in team environments
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of management experience in luxury goods or comparable retail environments is required. Prior experience in the luxury goods sector is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships, driving sales performance, and leading high-performing retail teams.
Education
College degree is preferred.
