Kate Spade New York seeks Senior Manager, Retail Training & Development in Tokyo to design and execute training programs enhancing retail organizational capabilities.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute training solutions that support business objectives of increasing sales, market share, profitability, and customer experience across Retail and Outlet channels
- Build knowledge, confidence, and leadership capabilities focused on selling skills improvement, leadership development, conversion and productivity optimization, and new customer acquisition (Gen Z)
- Elevate customer experience by driving improvements in customer satisfaction scores and measurable performance outcomes
- Partner with Channel Head, Regional Leader, and HR to design and deliver effective training programs, train-the-trainer sessions, and developmental materials
- Contribute to brand transformation by enhancing fashion acumen and commercial awareness throughout the retail organization
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including APAC Retail Training & Development, Buying team, and Global Customer Experience team, as well as external training vendors and venues
Qualifications
- Training planning and execution experience in Fashion or Luxury industries
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries
- Hands-on, self-starter mentality with energetic, positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Creative and strategic problem solver with solid execution and implementation capabilities
- Results-oriented with demonstrated ability to influence performance on a regular basis
- Fluent Japanese and business-level English (mandatory)
- Bachelor's degree required
Skills
Experience
More than 5 years' experience as Store Manager, Stylist, or Merchandise Director in fashion or apparel brands with demonstrated ability to deliver training solutions. Experience in management training methodologies such as Situational Leadership or Coaching Training is advantageous. Background in fast-moving US-based companies or cultures is valued. Demonstrated passion for people development and organizational capability building is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree required. Training certification or professional qualification in organizational development, adult learning, or management coaching is advantageous.
