Kate Spade in New York, NY seeks a Seasonal Sales Associate (Stock & Visual Merchandising) — part-time at Hudson Yards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage guests with warmth and authoritative product knowledge; act as a trusted styling advisor to curate looks and integrate Kate Spade pieces into customers’ wardrobes.
- Conduct active listening and ask insightful questions to identify customer needs, recommend complementary items, and create complete outfits or gifting solutions.
- Drive sales through storytelling and relationship-building while achieving individual and store targets.
- Deliver operational excellence: manage POS transactions, maintain floor standards, organise the stockroom, receive and process inventory, and support visual merchandising execution.
- Employ omni-channel and virtual selling techniques and assist customers with digital or remote purchasing as needed.
- Ensure a seamless checkout experience, reinforce customer choices, and invite return visits to cultivate loyalty.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting (regularly up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs), stocking, bending, climbing and maintaining an orderly sales floor.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable professional selling skills with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Prior retail experience, ideally within fashion or lifestyle brands.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise competing demands, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Comfort with social media, willingness to learn omni-channel and virtual selling tools and techniques.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak season and public holidays.
Skills
Experience
Prior experience in retail sales is required, with a track record of customer-focused selling, styling or visual merchandising preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; retail- or fashion-related coursework or certification is a plus.
