Kate Spade New York seeks a Temporary Stylist to serve as a trusted advisor assisting customers in selecting products suited to their aesthetic and lifestyle. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong product knowledge, actively listen to customer needs, provide styling guidance, and drive sales through compelling storytelling and brand expertise while maintaining operational excellence in stockroom and POS transactions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and confidently, demonstrating comprehensive product knowledge across all Kate Spade categories
- Actively listen and ask insightful follow-up questions to understand customer needs and preferences
- Provide personalized styling advice, suggest complementary add-ons, and create complete looks that showcase product versatility
- Guide customers through purchase decisions and ensure a seamless checkout experience
- Maintain operational excellence including stockroom organization, inventory management, and accurate POS transactions
- Drive results through strong customer connections, storytelling, and deep knowledge of brand attributes
- Demonstrate flexibility to work nights, weekends, busy seasons, and high-traffic retail days including public holidays
- Give and receive constructive feedback in an honest manner to support team performance
Qualifications
- Professional selling skills with exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Prior experience in a retail environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work collaboratively in a team setting
- Social media awareness and willingness to learn omni/virtual selling techniques
- English language proficiency
- Physical ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally), climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver sales floor and stockroom

Experience
Prior experience in a retail environment is required. Familiarity with luxury or lifestyle brands is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; additional retail or customer service certification is preferred but not required.
