The Retail Supervisor supports Kate Spade store leadership by overseeing the sales floor, driving sales and KPIs, developing client relationships, coaching the team, and maintaining operational standards. The role also leads omni-channel selling and customer data capture, supervises store procedures, and requires a flexible schedule and regular lifting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Create a customer-first, high-energy sales environment through exceptional floor supervision.
- Drive store productivity and profitability through team building, coaching, goal setting, client development, and adherence to Kate Spade New York standards.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, set the tone on the sales floor, lead by example, and elevate service, selling behaviours, and operational excellence.
- Drive personal sales performance and lead the team in achieving sales and KPI targets; analyse metrics and implement best practices to improve results and efficiency.
- Build client relationships through proactive outreach and Kate Spade service standards; ensure exceptional in-store and after-sales experiences; encourage repeat business and VIP retention.
- Model Kate Spade service behaviours, including meeting and greeting customers, creating conversations, building relationships, and identifying needs.
- Coach the team on goals and performance; support recruitment, onboarding, role modelling, and ongoing development and training.
- Provide store leadership with feedback on individual performance and development needs, and advocate for the team.
- Foster an inclusive, equitable, and diverse culture that empowers teams to thrive authentically.
- Perform and supervise opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, bank deposits, register operations, and securing the facility; serve as a key holder.
- Process POS transactions and inventory functions accurately, including transfers, receiving, shipments, repairs, and damages, to maintain inventory integrity.
- Maintain an organised stockroom and direct timely replenishment to ensure product availability on the sales floor.
- Drive omni-channel and virtual selling initiatives, including live-stream shopping.
- Promote brand-safe social media engagement and awareness of trends.
- Lead customer data capture to grow loyalty and repeat purchases.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented, proactive, and able to multitask and prioritise effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff and confidently navigate the sales floor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Social media literacy and understanding of platform trends.
- Comfort with omni-channel and virtual selling tools and clienteling systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including nights, weekends, peak busy season, high-traffic retail days, and public holidays.
- Ability to regularly lift at least 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs, and to climb, bend, kneel, and manoeuvre around the sales floor and stockroom.

Experience
2+ years of experience in a retail service environment in a management or floor leadership role; luxury, premium, or comparable retail preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 17 to USD 27.75 per hour.
