The Retail Supervisor supports Kate Spade store leadership by driving sales and KPIs, client development, team coaching, omnichannel selling, and operational excellence. The role includes floor supervision, opening and closing duties, and a flexible schedule covering nights, weekends, peak season, busy retail days, and public holidays.
Role & Responsibilities
- Create a customer-first, high-energy sales environment through exceptional floor supervision, supporting store leadership and driving productivity and profitability.
- Drive personal sales performance and lead the team in achieving sales and KPI targets; analyze metrics and apply best practices to improve results and efficiency.
- Build client relationships through proactive outreach and Kate Spade service standards; deliver excellent in-store and after-sales experiences, encourage repeat business, and retain VIP clients.
- Model Kate Spade service behaviors by welcoming customers, initiating conversations, and identifying their needs.
- Coach the team on goals and performance; support recruitment, onboarding, role modeling, ongoing training, and development.
- Provide store leadership with feedback on individual performance and development needs, and advocate for the team.
- Foster an inclusive, equitable, and diverse culture that enables team members to thrive authentically.
- Perform and supervise opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, bank deposits, register operations, and securing the facility; hold keys as required.
- Process POS transactions and inventory functions accurately, including transfers, receiving, shipments, repairs, and damages, to maintain inventory integrity.
- Maintain an organized stockroom and direct timely replenishment to ensure product availability on the sales floor.
- Drive omnichannel and virtual selling initiatives, including livestream shopping.
- Promote brand-safe social media engagement and awareness of trends.
- Lead customer data capture to grow loyalty and repeat purchases.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail service environment in a management or floor leadership role; luxury, premium, or comparable retail experience preferred.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented, proactive, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff and confidently navigate the sales floor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Social media literacy and understanding of platform trends.
- Comfort with omnichannel and virtual selling tools and clienteling systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including nights, weekends, peak busy season, high-traffic retail days, and public holidays.
- Ability to regularly lift at least 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom.
