Kate Spade seeks a Retail Supervisor in New York to lead sales-floor execution, client development, team coaching, omni-channel selling, and store operations while supporting store leadership. The role requires at least 2 years of retail service experience in management or floor leadership and offers full-time employment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Create a customer-first, high-energy sales environment through effective floor supervision, supporting store leadership and driving productivity and profitability.
- Drive personal sales performance and lead the team toward sales and KPI targets; analyze metrics and implement best practices to improve results and efficiency.
- Build client relationships through proactive outreach and Kate Spade service standards; ensure exceptional in-store and after-sales experiences, repeat business, and VIP retention.
- Model Kate Spade service behaviors—welcoming clients, initiating conversations, and discovering their needs—to build strong relationships.
- Coach the team on goals and performance; support recruitment, onboarding, role modeling, training, and ongoing development.
- Provide store leadership with feedback on individual performance and development needs, and advocate for the team.
- Foster an inclusive, equitable, and diverse culture that enables teams to thrive authentically.
- Perform and supervise opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, bank deposits, register operations, and securing the facility as a key holder.
- Process POS transactions and inventory functions accurately, including transfers, receiving, shipments, repairs, and damages, to maintain inventory integrity.
- Maintain an organized stockroom and direct timely replenishment to ensure product availability on the sales floor.
- Drive omni-channel and virtual selling initiatives, including live-stream shopping.
- Promote brand-safe social media engagement and awareness of trends.
- Lead customer data capture to grow loyalty and repeat purchases.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented, proactive, and able to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- At least 2 years of experience in a retail service environment in a management or floor leadership role; luxury, premium, or comparable retail experience preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff and confidently navigate the sales floor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Social media literacy and understanding of platform trends.
- Comfort with omni-channel and virtual selling tools and clienteling systems.
- Strong English language proficiency (for EU).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including nights, weekends, peak busy season, high-traffic retail days, and public holidays.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and to climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver through the sales floor and stockroom.
