Kate Spade (Tanger Outlets National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD) seeks a Temporary Sales Associate (part-time) to provide styling, customer service and retail operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and establish rapport while demonstrating authoritative product knowledge across categories.
- Provide personalised styling advice and curate complete looks, suggesting complementary items to increase average transaction value.
- Listen actively and ask probing questions to understand customer needs and lifestyle preferences.
- Execute sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems and ensure a seamless checkout experience.
- Maintain visual and operational standards on the sales floor and in the stockroom, including inventory replenishment and merchandising.
- Employ omni/virtual selling techniques and social channels to engage customers and drive conversion.
- Deliver follow-up and clienteling to encourage repeat visits and build long-term customer relationships.
- Safely handle merchandise and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs as required.
Qualifications
- Professional selling skills with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Prior retail experience in a high-volume or fashion environment.
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritise and collaborate effectively within a retail team.
- Comfortable using POS systems and performing routine operational tasks (stockroom, inventory).
- Social media awareness and willingness to adopt omni/virtual selling techniques.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak seasons and public holidays.
Skills
Experience
Prior retail sales experience is required; demonstrated track record of customer-facing selling, styling or advisory roles is preferred. Experience with POS transactions and omni-channel or virtual selling is advantageous.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 15 to USD 19.50 per hour.
