Kate Spade Assistant Store Leader role in New York — lead boutique operations, drive sales and deliver luxury client service.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Leader in achieving sales targets and key retail KPIs through daily coaching, visual direction and hands-on selling.
- Lead and motivate the sales team to deliver exemplary client service and personalised clienteling across all touchpoints.
- Maintain brand standards for visual merchandising, store presentation and product placement; implement floor moves and new season rollouts.
- Manage inventory accuracy and stockflow: receive deliveries, organise backstock, conduct cycle counts and assist with replenishment.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, POS transactions and end-of-day reconciliation while enforcing loss-prevention and shrinkage controls.
- Prepare staff schedules, coordinate cover and support workforce planning to optimise labour vs. sales performance.
- Resolve client escalations and complex service situations with professionalism, escalating issues to the Store Leader as required.
- Share responsibility for opening/closing procedures, compliance, health & safety and maintaining a secure retail environment.
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience in a retail environment, preferably with luxury, premium or lifestyle brands.
- Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing team performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a client-first mindset and the ability to coach others.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced store setting.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and peak seasonal periods.

Experience
Several years of frontline retail experience with at least one year in a supervisory or assistant managerial role; prior exposure to luxury or premium retail environments is strongly preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; tertiary education in business, retail management or a related discipline preferred.
