Kate Spade New York seeks a Director, Marketing in Tokyo to lead brand strategy and integrated marketing for the Japanese market.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the brand’s marketing strategy for the Japan market (and regional remit as required), ensuring alignment with global brand positioning and seasonal product calendars.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns across channels — retail, digital, social, PR, events and partnerships — to drive brand awareness, traffic and sales.
  • Manage marketing planning and budgeting, prioritising investments and measuring ROI through robust KPIs and performance dashboards.
  • Direct, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary marketing team; collaborate closely with product, creative, retail, e-commerce and wholesale stakeholders.
  • Partner with agency and vendor partners (creative agencies, media buyers, PR firms, event producers) to deliver high-quality executions on time and on brand.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all touchpoints, adapting global creative to local market nuances.
  • Advise senior leadership on market trends, competitor activity and consumer insights to inform strategic choices and activation priorities.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership record in brand or retail marketing within fashion, accessories or luxury goods.
  • Demonstrable experience translating global brand strategy into high-impact local campaigns and omnichannel activations.
  • Track record of managing marketing budgets, delivering ROI and driving measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management with experience working across creative, retail, e-commerce and wholesale teams.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with strong coaching and talent-development instincts.

Experience
