Kate Spade seeks an Assistant Store Leader in San Diego, CA to lead retail operations, drive omni-channel sales and develop store teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Model and enforce Kate Spade service behaviours and selling standards to maintain a high-energy, client-focused sales floor.
- Drive omni-channel performance and virtual selling, including clienteling, loyalty outreach and digital-assisted transactions.
- Coach, develop and manage store associates; recruit and onboard diverse talent and address underperformance through direct feedback.
- Own store sales plans, forecasting and action plans; monitor KPIs (traffic, conversion, UPT, AUR) and coach the team to results.
- Act as Store Leader in their absence and cultivate an inclusive, motivating culture that reflects brand values.
- Execute visual merchandising directives and maintain immaculate store presentation consistent with brand standards.
- Oversee daily operational processes: opening/closing, cash handling, payroll scheduling and facility security.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety and loss-prevention procedures; support inventory management and cycle counts.
- Partner with corporate teams to analyse market and sell-through data, translate insights into in-store strategies.
- Leverage live-stream shopping and social media trends to increase engagement and drive incremental sales.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle or a comparable retail environment; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Proven leadership with strong communication and organisational skills; ability to coach to performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience with retail systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse selling reports, identify trends and take decisive action.
- Flexible availability to work nights, weekends, peak season and public holidays as required.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and perform tasks that require bending, kneeling and climbing.

Experience
At least 2+ years of retail management experience in a fashion or lifestyle retail environment, with a demonstrated record of driving sales, coaching teams, and managing store operations.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; combination of relevant education and practical retail management experience will be considered.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 18.50 to USD 31.50 per hour.
