Kate Spade seeks Assistant Store Leader in Ontario, California to lead store operations, drive sales, and develop retail talent in a full-time role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Model and champion Kate Spade service behaviors and selling standards, cultivating a high-energy, client-focused retail environment
  • Drive omni-channel and virtual selling initiatives; implement clienteling strategies through client books, personalized outreach, and loyalty program engagement
  • Empower the sales team to deliver personalized customer experiences and resolve issues effectively while capturing customer data for marketing and repeat business
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop diverse talent; provide coaching and performance management to support individual and team growth
  • Set clear performance goals and coach team members against key performance indicators including traffic, conversion, units per transaction, and average unit retail
  • Act as Store Leader in their absence, fostering an inclusive and motivating culture that supports brand authenticity
  • Own store sales plans and forecasts; develop and execute action plans to capitalize on business opportunities and exceed performance standards
  • Partner with corporate teams to analyze market data, identify trends, and optimize sales strategies across all channels
  • Champion Kate Spade's brand aesthetic and philosophy; execute visual directives and maintain impeccable store presentation standards
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and facility security; manage staff schedules and payroll budgets to align with business needs
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and loss prevention standards; support inventory management and shipment accuracy
  • Manage live stream shopping sessions and leverage social media trends to drive customer engagement and brand awareness

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle, or comparable environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated experience with retail management systems and point-of-sale platforms
  • Strong analytical capability to interpret selling reports, identify market trends, and respond with agility
  • Excellent English language proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, peak seasons, and holiday retail days
  • Physical capability to lift and carry at least 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally); ability to climb, bend, kneel, and move throughout sales floor and stockroom

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 18.50 to USD 38.25 per hour.
