Kate Spade New York seeks an Assistant Store Leader in New York to drive retail leadership, team development, and sales excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Model Kate Spade service behaviors and selling standards; lead a high-energy, client-focused sales environment
  • Drive omni-channel and virtual selling; execute clienteling strategies through client books, targeted outreach, and loyalty program management
  • Empower the team to personalize client experiences and resolve customer issues effectively and efficiently
  • Lead customer data capture initiatives to support marketing campaigns and drive repeat business
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop diverse talent; provide coaching and manage underperformance
  • Set clear performance goals, review KPIs (traffic, conversion, units per transaction, average unit retail), and coach team members to results
  • Act as Store Leader in their absence; foster an inclusive, motivating culture within the team
  • Build community networks to support recruiting efforts and enhance brand awareness
  • Own store sales plans and forecasts; develop and execute action plans to capitalize on business opportunities
  • Inspire the team to exceed performance standards across all selling channels
  • Partner with corporate teams to analyze market data and optimize store strategies
  • Champion Kate Spade's aesthetic and brand philosophy; maintain all brand and operating standards
  • Execute visual merchandising directives and ensure an impeccable, well-maintained store environment
  • Communicate sell-through trends, inventory insights, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and facility security protocols
  • Manage staff schedules and payroll budgets; adjust staffing levels to align with business needs
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, safety regulations, and loss prevention standards
  • Support inventory management processes, cycle counts, and shipment accuracy verification
  • Manage live stream shopping sessions and leverage social media trends to drive engagement and sales

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle, or comparable retail environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with retail management systems and point-of-sale technology
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze selling reports, identify trends, and respond quickly to market conditions
  • Strong English language proficiency
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. regularly (up to 50 lbs. occasionally); capacity to climb, bend, kneel, and navigate sales floor and stockroom environments
