Kate Spade New York seeks an Assistant Store Leader in Elizabeth, NJ. Lead retail operations, drive sales, and manage team development in this dynamic leadership role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Model Kate Spade service behaviors and selling standards; lead a high-energy, client-focused sales floor environment
- Drive omni-channel and virtual selling strategies; ensure effective clienteling through client books, outreach initiatives, and loyalty program engagement
- Empower the team to personalize customer experiences and resolve issues effectively; lead customer data capture to support marketing and repeat business
- Recruit, onboard, and develop diverse talent; provide coaching, manage underperformance, and act as Store Leader during their absence
- Set clear performance goals and review KPIs (traffic, conversion, units per transaction, average unit retail); coach team members to achieve results
- Own store sales plans and forecasts; create action plans to capitalize on business opportunities and inspire the team across all selling channels
- Maintain Kate Spade's aesthetic and brand philosophy; execute visual directives and ensure store environment standards
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, facility security, and payroll budget management; adjust staffing levels based on business needs
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and loss prevention protocols; support inventory management and shipment accuracy
- Manage live stream shopping sessions and leverage social media trends to drive customer engagement and brand awareness
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle, or comparable environments
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with retail management systems
- Ability to analyze selling reports, identify market trends, and respond with agility
- Strong English language proficiency
- Ability to lift regularly up to 25 lbs. (occasionally up to 50 lbs.); capable of climbing, bending, kneeling, and maneuvering sales floor and stockroom
Skills
Experience
2+ years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle retail, or a comparable customer-focused environment. A combination of equivalent education and practical retail leadership experience will be considered.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; advancement through retail ranks or completion of retail management training programs is acceptable.
