Kate Spade New York seeks an Assistant Store Leader in Carlsbad, California to drive retail operations, team development, and sales excellence through leadership and omni-channel execution.
Role & Responsibilities
- Model Kate Spade service behaviors and selling standards; lead a high-energy, client-focused environment on the sales floor
- Drive omni-channel and virtual selling initiatives; ensure clienteling through client books, outreach programs, and loyalty platforms
- Empower the team to personalize customer experiences and resolve client issues effectively
- Lead customer data capture efforts to support marketing initiatives and repeat business development
- Recruit, onboard, and develop diverse talent; provide coaching and manage underperformance issues
- Set clear performance goals and coach teams on KPIs including traffic, conversion, units per transaction (UPT), and average unit retail (AUR)
- Act as Store Leader in their absence; foster an inclusive and motivating workplace culture
- Own store sales plans and forecasts; create action plans to address business opportunities and performance gaps
- Champion Kate Spade's aesthetic and brand philosophy; maintain brand and operating standards
- Execute visual directives and ensure an impeccable, on-brand store environment
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and facility security protocols
- Manage team schedules and payroll budgets; adjust staffing levels to align with business needs
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and loss prevention standards
- Support inventory management, cycle counts, and shipment accuracy
- Manage live stream shopping sessions and leverage social media trends to drive customer engagement
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle, or comparable environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with retail management systems and point-of-sale platforms
- Ability to analyze selling reports, identify market trends, and execute rapid adjustments
- Strong English language proficiency
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. regularly (up to 50 lbs. occasionally); ability to climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver sales floor and stockroom
