Kate Spade New York seeks Assistant Store Leader in Byron Center, Michigan. Full-time retail leadership role managing sales, team development, and operations. $18.50–$29.00/hour.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Model Kate Spade service behaviors and selling standards; create and sustain a high-energy, client-focused environment on the sales floor
  • Lead omni-channel and virtual selling initiatives; drive client engagement through client books, personalized outreach, and loyalty program participation
  • Empower team members to personalize customer experiences and resolve issues effectively while capturing customer data for marketing and repeat business development
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop diverse talent; provide coaching, set clear KPIs (traffic, conversion, UPT, AUR), and manage underperformance
  • Act as Store Leader in their absence and foster an inclusive, motivating team culture; build community networks to support recruiting and brand awareness
  • Own store sales plans and forecasts; develop action plans to address business opportunities and inspire teams to exceed performance standards across all selling channels
  • Champion Kate Spade's aesthetic and brand philosophy; maintain brand standards, execute visual directives, and ensure an impeccable store environment
  • Communicate sell-through, stock trends, and customer feedback to corporate teams to inform strategy optimization
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, facility security, schedules, and payroll budgets; adjust staffing to business needs
  • Ensure compliance with policies, safety, and loss prevention standards; support inventory management, cycle counts, and shipment accuracy
  • Manage live stream shopping sessions and leverage social media trends to drive customer engagement and sales

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle, or comparable environment (combination of education and experience considered)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with retail management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze selling reports, identify trends, and react quickly to business changes
  • Strong English language proficiency
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally); ability to climb, bend, kneel, and maneuver the sales floor and stockroom

Experience
