Kate Spade New York is hiring an Assistant Store Leader in Bloomington, MN (Mall of America). Lead sales, coaching, omni‑channel service and store operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Model Kate Spade service behaviours and selling standards to cultivate a high‑energy, client‑focused sales floor.
  • Drive omni‑channel and virtual selling initiatives, including clienteling, client book outreach and loyalty program engagement.
  • Coach and empower associates to personalise client interactions, resolve customer issues and capture customer data to support marketing and repeat business.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop diverse retail talent; provide ongoing coaching, manage performance and act as Store Leader in their absence.
  • Set clear goals, monitor KPIs (traffic, conversion, UPT, AUR), and implement action plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Own store sales plans and forecasts; analyse market and sell‑through data in partnership with corporate teams to optimise assortment and merchandising.
  • Champion Kate Spade brand standards and execute visual directives to ensure an impeccable store environment.
  • Oversee operational processes including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, loss prevention, inventory cycle counts and shipment accuracy.
  • Manage staffing, schedules and payroll budgets; adjust resourcing to meet peak demand and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Leverage social and live‑stream shopping channels to increase engagement and drive incremental sales.
  • Perform physical tasks as required: regularly lift at least 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs), climb, bend and move through stockroom and sales floor areas.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years retail management experience in fashion, lifestyle or a comparable customer‑facing environment; combination of education and experience considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership with strong communication, coaching and people‑development capabilities.
  • Proven ability to analyse selling reports, identify trends and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and prior experience with retail systems and POS platforms.
  • Capacity to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, peak seasons and public holidays.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (regular lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs).

Experience

At least two years of retail management experience within fashion, lifestyle, or a closely related consumer retail environment; a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 18.50 to USD 38.25 per hour.
