Role & Responsibilities

  • Own the financial performance of the Northampton manufacturing operations: produce accurate monthly closes, margin analyses and variance explanations versus budget and prior year.
  • Lead budgeting, re-forecasts and a 3-year plan for manufacturing (P&L and CapEx), translating operational decisions into financial assumptions in close partnership with the Industrial Director.
  • Calculate and maintain standard industrial costs at article level, validate BOM accuracy and perform costing exercises to support pricing and collection decisions.
  • Prepare and manage operational reporting packs, KPIs and dashboards covering production volumes, invoicing, productivity ratios and order intake; propose and implement enhancements.
  • Manage CapEx governance for the site: track spend to budget, challenge investment requests and oversee bidding processes.
  • Drive internal control across procurement, security & CSR, stock management and HR: define the annual internal control plan, run regular and ad hoc checks and lead stock-takes with improvement recommendations.
  • Line-manage the Management Controller assistant and build a close working relationship with the local Accounting team to ensure integrity of financial records.
  • Act as the primary Finance business partner to the Industrial Director and liaise regularly with the Paris-based Head of Management & Internal Control and CFO; travel to Paris and other Group or supplier sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent from a university or business school.
  • Minimum 3 years' demonstrable experience in industrial/management accounting or costing. Experience within footwear or manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Proven competence in budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, stock valuation and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with M3 ERP is advantageous.
  • Ability to be onsite full-time in Northampton with occasional travel to Paris and other sites.

Experience
