Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Designer and Senior Design Director in the end-to-end design and development of women's shoe collections aligned with the Creative Director’s vision.
- Contribute sketches, concept ideas and research to seasonal concept development and internal reviews.
- Translate creative direction into commercially relevant product while maintaining brand aesthetic and awareness of market trends.
- Prepare and maintain design specifications including materials, components and construction details for development teams and suppliers.
- Conduct trend, material and technique research and share actionable insights with the wider design team.
- Collaborate closely with Merchandising and Product Development to ensure collection delivery against timelines and commercial objectives.
- Assist in fit sessions, spec reviews and development follow-up under guidance from senior team members.
- Support preparation of materials and product for collection presentations and edit reviews.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external vendors/suppliers.
- Monitor the design and development calendar and proactively suggest improvements to team processes and ways of working.
Qualifications
- Fashion or Design degree (or equivalent professional experience)
- Practical experience in footwear design with demonstrable exposure to women’s shoes
- Experience working within a fashion brand or design studio; luxury brand experience advantageous
- Familiarity with factory processes, supplier relationships and basic footwear construction
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant footwear design work (required at application)
Skills
Experience
Approximately 1–3 years of professional experience in footwear or fashion design, preferably with exposure to women's shoes; experience within a luxury environment is beneficial.
Education
Degree in Fashion/Design or equivalent professional experience.
