Jil Sander seeks an Intern Graphic & Print Designer in Milan to join its creative team developing prints and graphics for luxury fashion collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in developing placed and allover print and graphic work for menswear, womenswear, soft accessories, special projects, and occasionally accessories, jewelry, and embroidery
- Research and craft stories for ready-to-wear collections through on-site work and visits to libraries, museums, exhibitions, and suppliers
- Experiment with new techniques for developing artwork using drawing, painting, and digital tools
- Collaborate closely with fabric development, creative studio, product development, and production teams
- Prepare print boards, research boards, overviews, and maintain print archive documentation
- Assist in presenting graphic work to the creative director and other creative teams; gather and communicate essential information to broader teams
- Prepare color and artwork standards for transmission to print mills
Qualifications
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
- Excellent hand-drawing, painting, and sketching skills
- Strong color theory and palette development sensibility
- Demonstrated awareness of current market trends and competitive brand positioning
- Fluent English language proficiency
- Knowledge of print placement techniques and pattern work (preferred)
Skills
Experience
Demonstrated experience or strong portfolio evidence of creative work in print design, graphic design, or textile design. Background in fashion design, illustration, or fine art is valuable.
Education
Educational background in graphic design, fashion design, fine art, illustration, or a related creative discipline is expected.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
