Jaeger-LeCoultre seeks Manufacturing Manager for Tooling & Mechanics in Le Sentier, Switzerland. Lead technical team, optimize production, manage precision tooling operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 20 employees, including 3 team leaders, fostering competency growth and cross-functional versatility
- Create a positive, collaborative work environment grounded in transparent communication and shared accountability
- Guarantee on-time delivery of precision tooling in compliance with quality standards and cost targets
- Plan and optimize workload allocation and production capacity to balance efficiency with operational agility
- Proactively communicate risks, variances and corrective action plans to senior management
- Evaluate and propose enhancements to tooling design, manufacturing processes, equipment and departmental organization
- Assess and implement new production equipment and technologies with focus on strategic relevance and return on investment
- Monitor technological developments within the sector to anticipate industry evolution and maintain competitive advantage
- Champion a culture of performance, accountability and continuous improvement across the department
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and oversee subcontracted tooling orders
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including service level, capacity utilization, quality metrics and cost control
Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of tooling design including 3D modeling, 2D technical drawing and precision tooling specification
- Strong understanding of conventional, CNC and assembly manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with digital collaboration tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Competency with engineering software environments such as Windchill and CREO
- Proven leadership experience managing teams of 15+ employees
- Experience with supplier quality management and external vendor coordination
Skills
Experience
Extensive background in manufacturing management or tooling operations, with demonstrated expertise in leading technical teams, optimizing production workflows, and driving process improvement initiatives in a precision engineering or luxury manufacturing environment. Experience with automatic and progressive stamping processes is a valued asset.
Education
Secondary or post-secondary technical qualification in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating mastery of tooling design and manufacturing processes.
