Jaeger-LeCoultre internship: Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Le Sentier, Switzerland. Design workshop optimization and relocation strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed process flow analysis and value stream mapping (VSM) of existing gear and escapement production operations
- Define target product mix and production volumes, establishing comprehensive specifications encompassing technical, ergonomic, and spatial constraints
- Design macro-implantation and zoning strategy for workshop layouts, followed by detailed micro-implantation and ergonomic workstation configurations
- Develop equipment integration plans for networks, energy systems, and utilities
- Prepare phased relocation and transition plans to maintain uninterrupted production during facility reconfiguration
- Collaborate with production leadership, support functions, and facilities teams throughout all project phases
- Contribute to budget estimation and cost optimization activities
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a final-year student in an engineering master's programme (mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent)
- Strong specialization or demonstrated focus in Continuous Improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
- Rigorous analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive and intellectually curious with ability to synthesize complex operational data
Skills
Experience
No prior professional experience required; however, exposure to manufacturing environments, process improvement projects, or industrial engineering coursework is advantageous.
Education
Final-year student in a master's programme from an engineering school with specialization in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement disciplines.
