Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Innovation / R&D team in concept development, mechanical design and prototyping for watch movements and components.
- Participate in hands-on fabrication and bench-level prototype assembly; perform iterative testing and document results.
- Contribute to experimental validation: prepare test plans, collect and analyse measurement data, and recommend design refinements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, production, quality) to translate technical requirements into manufacturable solutions.
- Produce clear technical documentation, CAD annotations, lab reports and presentation materials for internal review.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an engineering programme (Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics or equivalent).
- Strong foundation in mechanical design principles, kinematics and precision engineering relevant to micro-mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly or laboratory measurement during academic projects or prior internships.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesise test data and propose pragmatic engineering solutions.
- Professional communication skills in technical documentation and cross-disciplinary teamwork.
Skills
Experience
Academic project work or prior internships in mechanical design, prototyping, laboratory testing or related engineering activities; experience in precision or micro-mechanical environments is advantageous.
Education
Enrolment in or recent completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics or a closely related discipline.
