Jaeger‑LeCoultre seeks an Engineering Intern in Le Sentier, Switzerland — internship in R&D supporting watch engineering, prototyping and testing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support R&D and technical development teams in the design, prototyping and testing of watch components and movements.
- Produce and revise technical drawings and 3D CAD models to defined tolerances; assist with product documentation and BOM updates.
- Carry out dimensional inspection, metrology measurements and tolerance analysis on prototypes and production parts.
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical prototypes and assist watchmakers during bench testing and adjustments.
- Collect, analyse and report test data; propose corrective actions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, production, quality) to ensure manufacturability and compliance with internal standards.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, Precision Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong theoretical grounding in mechanics, materials and manufacturing processes; understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
- Demonstrable interest in horology, precision mechanics or product development.
- Good manual dexterity and comfort working in a workshop environment; rigorous approach to documentation and quality control.
Skills
Experience
No specific prior professional experience required; academic projects, university laboratory work or prior internships in precision mechanics, microtechnology or product development are advantageous. Previous exposure to watchmaking or fine mechanics is a plus.
Education
Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate engineering programme (Mechanical, Microengineering, Precision Engineering, or related).
