Role & Responsibilities
- Analyse and document the current Business Intelligence solution (Cognos and SAP), including architectural assessment and user requirements gathering to identify improvement opportunities
- Design and build robust, high-performance data ingestion pipelines using Talend with architecture design on GCP BigQuery
- Implement complex data transformations and optimizations using the dbt framework while ensuring data quality, compliance, and consistency
- Create, deploy, and maintain interactive and intuitive dashboards in Looker with key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decision-making
- Conduct technology monitoring and explore emerging Data Engineering trends to propose innovative solutions for continuous process optimization
- Collaborate daily with technical and non-technical stakeholders whilst adopting structured agile practices
Qualifications
- Master's student in engineering school or equivalent university programme with specialization in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Strong command of SQL, databases, and data modelling concepts including Data Warehousing principles
- Demonstrated interest in or practical experience with modern data stack tools: Talend, BigQuery, dbt, Looker
- Knowledge of software development principles (Python or equivalent scripting language)
- Familiarity with version control tools (Git) and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Skills
Experience
Academic background in computer science or data science with demonstrated interest in data engineering; practical experience or strong theoretical knowledge of ETL processes and business intelligence solutions is advantageous.
Education
Master's student in engineering school or equivalent university programme with specialization in Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Le Sentier, Vaud, Switzerland, with easy access to Lausanne.
