IWC Schaffhausen seeks an Import & Export Specialist (80%) in Schaffhausen, Switzerland — manage customs, shipments and trade compliance for a luxury watch brand.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end import and export operations for finished goods and components, ensuring on‑time shipments and accurate documentation.
  • Prepare and validate customs declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists and all required trade documentation; ensure correct HS classification and valuation.
  • Ensure compliance with Swiss, EU and international trade regulations, including export controls, sanctions screening and preferential origin rules.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and internal stakeholders (procurement, warehouse, distribution, after‑sales) to resolve transit issues and optimize routing.
  • Maintain and update EORI/registration data, export licences and audit‑ready records; support customs audits and internal compliance reviews.
  • Monitor duties, taxes and landed cost implications; advise on Incoterms application and cross‑border VAT treatment.
  • Implement process improvements and support digitalisation initiatives for customs and shipping workflows (ERP integration, document templates, KPI reporting).

Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification in logistics, international trade, business administration or equivalent; tertiary degree advantageous.
  • Practical knowledge of customs procedures, HS classification and trade compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage export controls, licences and preferential origin documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; proven capability to liaise with external service providers and cross‑functional internal teams.
  • Detail oriented, organised and able to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast‑paced, international environment.
