Role & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full accounting function, including general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close activities, reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure timely and accurate statutory and management reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards (French GAAP and group reporting requirements).
• Oversee tax compliance, VAT reporting and liaison with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Control payroll accounting and social contributions reconciliation, coordinating with HR/Payroll providers as required.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies across multiple retail sites (airports and outlets).
• Manage inventory and cost accounting processes specific to watch and jewellery retail, including stock reconciliations and provision analysis.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow analysis to support commercial decision‑making.
• Supervise, coach and develop the accounting team; coordinate with Group finance for consolidation and intercompany transactions.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline; a professional accounting qualification (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of French accounting and tax rules; familiarity with IFRS and group consolidation processes is advantageous.
• Proven experience in retail accounting, ideally with exposure to multi‑site operations and inventory valuation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small accounting team and to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• High standards of accuracy, confidentiality and ethical conduct in financial matters.

Skills

Experience

Significant accounting experience within a retail or consumer goods environment, with several years in a senior or supervisory accounting role. Experience working with multi‑site retail operations, inventory valuation and liaison with external auditors is expected.

Education

Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification preferred.
