Holt Renfrew seeks a General Manager for Food Services at Café Holt in Montreal to lead culinary operations and drive revenue growth.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the head chef to develop seasonal food and beverage menus that support superior customer experience and maximize sales opportunities
  • Develop and execute annual business plans for the café and catering services in partnership with the chef and store operations leadership
  • Ensure consistent delivery of superior gastronomic preparation and service standards
  • Monitor emerging food and beverage trends and adapt menus and offerings accordingly
  • Create and customize catering menus to meet specific client needs
  • Cultivate supplier relationships to secure access to premium products at optimal pricing
  • Achieve customer service objectives and resolve complex client issues
  • Recruit, select, hire, and onboard top talent
  • Lead, motivate, and retain high-performing team members
  • Communicate performance standards, benchmarks, and objectives; provide coaching on success behaviors
  • Collaborate with other store directors to deliver seamless customer experience across departments
  • Embody leadership behaviors that foster open communication, employee development, and trust; recognize exceptional performance and develop improvement plans for underperforming staff
  • Lead team to develop, maintain, and grow an active customer base
  • Implement customer relationship management and loyalty programs
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and visual presentation at all times
  • Regularly evaluate food and beverage sales performance and develop strategies for improvement
  • Identify opportunities to stimulate and enhance business results
  • Manage payroll while maintaining appropriate staffing levels to meet business needs
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma from a culinary school or institute
  • 3 to 5 years of management experience
  • 3 to 10 years of restaurant and customer service experience
  • Deep knowledge of food sourcing and food cost management
  • Provincial health and safety certification
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated commitment to privacy protection, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity measures
