Hermès seeks a Visual Merchandising Project Manager for a fixed-term contract in Paris (8th arrondissement) to lead scenography and retail display concepts.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Source and curate artistic references and mood boards to establish creative direction for scenographic concepts
  • Execute rapid sketches and 3D renderings (SketchUp) to communicate design ideas at product and architectural scales, including photomontages and technical drawings
  • Brief modelmakers and suppliers with detailed design specifications, material selections, and technical documentation
  • Develop comprehensive 3D models of podiums, display windows, and PLV elements; manage creative iterations and feedback cycles via SketchUp
  • Synthesize and formalize design concepts into formal PowerPoint presentations for stakeholder review
  • Adapt approved concepts across all scenographic materials for retail environments, including small podiums, window displays, and gondola heads for partners such as Sephora and Nocibé; coordinate external agency deliverables and manage visual asset framing with the Communications team
  • Create implementation guidelines to support international markets in executing scenographic concepts, including technical specifications, production plans, and photo documentation
  • Oversee production of PLV elements in partnership with the Procurement team; validate materials, finishes, proofs, and first production samples
  • Select and prepare material packages for distribution to regional markets, ensuring proper color benchmarking, finish specifications, and installation guidelines

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent diploma in Design, Spatial Communication and Volume Design, Interior Architecture, or related field from an accredited design school
  • Demonstrated first experience in retail visual merchandising, preferably within a luxury goods house
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D design software (SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator); knowledge of Keyshot or V-Ray is advantageous
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated artistic and cultural curiosity (knowledge of design trends, artist/designer following, contemporary art engagement)
