Role & Responsibilities
- Define and implement Visual Merchandising strategy for France, ensuring strong, distinctive identity consistent with subsidiary and group directives
- Establish VM as a key retail partner by balancing creativity with commercial acumen and strategic alignment
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six VM specialists distributed across Paris and provincial locations; oversee functional management of Faubourg VM lead
- Build and promote a VM culture across all retail stakeholders through community animation and professional development programmes
- Manage annual and monthly network planning, resource allocation, and task force deployment across key seasonal moments (Fashion Week, couture, design salons, Christmas)
- Collaborate with merchandising teams to optimize product placement strategy, sell-through rates, and inventory levels across categories (home, jewellery, accessories)
- Contribute expert VM insights during product lifecycle stages, including procurement reviews, in-store launches, retail animations, and real estate projects
- Oversee minor and major store renovation projects, providing expertise on display and storage capacity requirements
- Develop and improve POS materials and product layout tools in collaboration with retail and design teams
- Analyse commercial and visual impact of installations and implement corrective action plans as needed
- Support retail buy strategy through preview and podium sessions; work closely with Retail Merchandising to manage slow-moving inventory qualitatively
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in business, design, applied arts, interior architecture, or fashion
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Visual Merchandising and retail management in demanding luxury environments
- Demonstrated aesthetic sensibility and ability to communicate visual intent clearly and accessibly
- Proven leadership capability and interpersonal excellence with strong influence skills
- Track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving cultural alignment
- Project management expertise with ability to prioritise and structure action plans
