Hermès seeks a Visual Merchandising Assistant for a 6-month internship or 1–2 year apprenticeship starting September 2026 in Paris, supporting VM guidelines, training, and retail implementation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the drafting of timeless and seasonal visual merchandising guidelines in collaboration with different product métiers, including product display photography, simulations, and presentation recommendations
- Develop and compile in-store display guidelines for individual métiers within designated retail spaces and cross-merchandising presentations across shared areas
- Support the creation of retail animation displays featuring narrative scenographies and product presentations
- Develop process best practices guidelines, including procedures for store openings and operational implementations
- Compile and organize photographic documentation of store displays for internal reporting and benchmarking purposes
- Assist in developing and building visual merchandising training materials and masterclasses to support strategy rollout across VM experts and sales teams
- Help organize and facilitate training sessions, both remote and on-site
- Conduct competitive benchmarking on visual merchandising topics including product presentation, point-of-sale materials, and emerging technologies
- Support regional teams with the implementation of seasonal collections across the Hermès store network
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a student in Visual Merchandising, Design, or Luxury Fashion Management, preferably in the 4th or 5th year of study
- Minimum one prior experience in visual merchandising or retail project management
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French required
- Strong retail culture and product sensitivity with a discerning eye for product display
- Excellent organizational and project management skills

At least one initial experience in visual merchandising or retail project management; student status in a relevant discipline preferred.
Education
Currently pursuing a degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, or Luxury Fashion Management, preferably in the 4th or 5th year of study.
