Hermès seeks a Textile and Components Quality Supervisor in Milano to oversee material compliance and supplier quality across Italian operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support production launch and manufacturing follow-up by verifying raw material compliance with internal standards at tier-1 suppliers and tier-2 subcontractors, including color fastness and dimensional stability specifications
- Participate in quality inspections at supplier premises and validate initial production batches as required
- Assess suppliers' alignment with internal quality control requirements using R&R methodology and provide competency development support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external inspection centers in Italy regarding quality compliance matters
- Characterize and assess quality incidents raised by control centers, approve raw materials, grant waivers, or escalate to Métiers teams for validation
- Monitor control centers' alignment with Hermès quality standards and coordinate action plans for improvement
- Intervene at material and component suppliers during significant quality issues occurring in production
- Support suppliers in confirming non-conformities and sizing incidents for consultation with Purchasing and Quality teams
- Visit manufacturers following quality alerts related to materials or components, characterizing and quantifying issues and identifying corrective solutions
- Support suppliers during remediation operations and validate conformity prior to re-delivery
- Formalize decisions regarding deviations from standards and ensure information flow to internal teams
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
- Significant professional experience in material quality control, preferably in textiles
- Proven experience with luxury textile quality requirements and problem-solving methodologies
- Fluent Italian with strong proficiency in French or English
- Strong ability to share knowledge and support stakeholders in qualitative development
- High degree of autonomy and responsiveness in fieldwork environments

Experience
Significant professional experience in material quality control, preferably in textiles. Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and comprehensive knowledge of luxury textile quality requirements. Experience working with suppliers in production environments and managing quality incidents is essential.
Education
Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
