Hermès seeks a Tech Lead API to guide backend development teams in Paris, designing scalable APIs and ensuring technical excellence across omnichannel initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical reference for the team and mentor developers in skills advancement
- Actively participate in the development of applications and APIs
- Design robust and scalable solutions using Clean Architecture and Hexagonal Architecture principles
- Ensure development quality through code reviews, engineering best practices, and continuous attention to performance, security, and maintainability
- Deploy engineering practices around CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and technical documentation
- Design and evolve APIs in TypeScript, Node.js, RxJS, and NestJS on AWS infrastructure
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Architecture, Technology Strategy, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams to ensure solution coherence
- Contribute to production application quality, continuous improvement, and the run model in a 'You build it, you run it' approach
Qualifications
- Strong mastery of backend development in TypeScript, Node.js, RxJS, and NestJS
- Expertise in REST/JSON and SOAP/XML API design
- Deep knowledge of modern architectures and AWS infrastructure
- Proficiency with DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Comfort with both relational and NoSQL databases
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead development teams
- Experience working in cross-functional environments

Experience
Substantial backend development experience demonstrating proven technical expertise and the ability to guide and mentor a development team through complex technical initiatives. Prior experience designing and implementing scalable API solutions in modern technology stacks is essential.
Education
Higher education qualification in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent professional expertise in backend development and architectural design.
