Hermès International seeks a Sustainable Development Apprentice in Paris for a 12‑month apprenticeship starting Sep 2026.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support deployment of the Group’s Nature strategy across métiers and distribution subsidiaries, including tracking progress and facilitating local implementation.
  • Contribute to application and internal animation of SBTN (Science Based Targets for Nature) and related biodiversity footprint measurement studies.
  • Assist in the design, launch and monitoring of regeneration and renaturation field projects, and perform methodological benchmarking and studies.
  • Coordinate activities and communications with WWF France: liaison with WWF teams, organisation of conferences, support for sectoral and species studies, and follow‑up of field projects.
  • Contribute to non‑financial reporting on Water, Pollution and Biodiversity and to responses to rating agencies and external surveys.
  • Co‑pilot an academic project with Sciences Po Paris: coordinate students, provide methodological guidance and prepare interim and final deliverables.
  • Support the Group sustainability network by contributing to internal committees (national and thematic) and developing internal engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in higher education (Master’s or equivalent) in sustainability, environmental science, ecology, environmental engineering, CSR, or related discipline.
  • Good formal knowledge of CSR/RSE principles and sustainability frameworks.
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, strong Excel skills and ability to manipulate quantitative data with rigour.
  • Proven organisational qualities: reliability, attention to detail, autonomy, pragmatism and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to synthesise complex information and to engage stakeholders across functions and geographies.

Experience

Beginners accepted; prior experience in cross‑functional sustainability projects or in environmental/CSR project work is an advantage.

Education

Enrolled in higher education (Master’s level preferred) in sustainability, environmental science, ecology, environmental engineering, public policy or a related field.
