Hermès Canada seeks an experienced Store Director in Montreal to lead boutique operations, sales, and team development. Full-time permanent role reporting to Commercial Retail Director.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive sales to meet or exceed budgets and establish execution plans to achieve revenue goals
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, fostering high-level service, clienteling, and brand ambassadorship across all store areas including after-sales service
  • Coach, train, and motivate the team to ensure product expertise and exceptional customer service, including after-sales support
  • Conduct and supervise monthly sales associate coaching processes and performance development
  • Identify opportunities and assist sales associates in strengthening and deepening client relationships
  • Oversee the management team to ensure they are well-informed, trained, and aligned in approach
  • Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports with thoughtful analyses and recommendations
  • Manage inventory for qualitative and quantitative success while respecting company guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with all operating policies and procedures
  • Analyze business performance and prepare purchasing plans within subsidiary buying guidelines and strategy
  • Ensure accurate completion of designated department and cycle counts
  • Lead preparation and execution of semi-annual inventory counts
  • Maintain pristine and organized front-of-house and back-of-house areas
  • Ensure store presentation reflects inventory ownership and current merchandising direction from métiers
  • Manage optimal inventory and model stock levels in coordination with Head Office
  • Drive talent management by recruiting, onboarding, and developing qualified employees while fostering retention and career growth
  • Enhance customer service excellence through regular audits, coaching, performance goal-setting, and targeted training with follow-up
  • Provide regular formal and informal feedback to all store employees
  • Maintain security of store assets and safety of employees and customers
  • Proactively communicate store business activities with the Commercial Retail Director and Managing Director
  • Partner effectively with all departments within Canada and Paris to ensure boutique support in achieving goals
  • Embrace and support all company initiatives, contests, and programs
  • Address issues affecting the boutique in a timely and thoughtful manner, delegating and following up as necessary

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive store management experience
  • Proven track record running a high-volume luxury retail store
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Demonstrated progressive management experience managing, coaching, motivating, and developing employees, teams, and managers with integrity and discretion
  • Strong understanding of the local retail market
  • Impeccable standards of service and experience with a luxury/quality-seeking clientele
  • Proven success in driving sales and providing exceptional customer service standards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and comfort with healthy conflict
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Ability to motivate and maintain team morale in challenging circumstances
