Hermès seeks a Store Director for its high-volume, multi-level flagship at Dubai Mall, with responsibility for sales, operations, buying, client development, service and staff management. The role leads strategy and execution, owns overall business performance and P&L, and develops the management team. This is an unlimited contract on a full-time schedule.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Deputy Store Director, Head of Client, and Head of Operations, ensuring the management team is informed, well-trained, and aligned in its leadership approach.
  • Set the strategic direction for team motivation, lead change-management initiatives, and drive results through people-focused management.
  • Analyse business opportunities and define corresponding strategies for developing the flagship boutique.
  • Address flagship issues promptly and thoughtfully, delegating and following up as needed.
  • Partner effectively with corporate departments and métier heads to support the flagship in achieving its goals.
  • Support company initiatives, contests, and programs; hold full responsibility for P&L, sales goals, and inventory results.
  • Coach staff and management to ensure the highest level of service and improved performance.
  • Take full responsibility for staff training, communication, and adherence to policy.
  • Maintain active HR notes on team performance; write annual evaluations for direct reports and guide managers on boutique reviews.
  • Conduct or supervise monthly touchbase sales coaching, coaching for optimal results.
  • Manage buying and oversee its preparation, strategy, and execution.
  • Manage stock quality and quantity, monitoring best sellers and aged inventory while following MOS guidelines.
  • Monitor market trends and ensure Floor Managers conduct regular competitive shopping.
  • Partner with the Communications Team to organize relevant events that build client relationships and reflect the spirit of the House.
  • Work closely with the visual merchandising team to maintain exceptional standards and consistently highlight new product stories.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience running a high-volume, multi-level flagship store with minimum sales of $50 million and 50 employees.
  • Operationally sound, strategic, open to new ideas, and unafraid of change.
  • Previous buying experience and strength in managing the buying process preferred.
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop other senior store-management team members.
  • Natural, dynamic team leader and sales driver; enthusiastic and high-energy.
  • Able to motivate and maintain team morale in challenging circumstances and address conflict.
  • Strong delegation and follow-up skills, with the ability to empower other managers.
  • Kind yet effective management style, without relying on fear or intimidation.
  • Able and motivated to form strong partnerships across the organization, valuing others’ opinions.
  • Impeccable service standards and experience with a luxury- and quality-seeking clientele.
  • Natural elegance in communication at all levels, including particular experience interacting with senior company executives and handling frequent store visits.
