Stock Assistant, 4-month FTC at Harrods in London. Manage inventory, support retail operations, report to Stock Manager.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain safe, clean, and orderly stock areas at all times
- Ensure all merchandise is security tagged, ticketed, and handled with appropriate care
- Verify ticketing accuracy during deliveries and conduct regular spot-checks
- Support stock position accuracy through inventory verification and reconciliation
- Communicate all stock and quality discrepancies to the Stock Manager
- Process expired reservations and return stock to correct locations
- Verify returns and re-ticket items, correcting irregularities
- Replenish shop floor and proximity stockrooms with correct merchandise
- Complete Cegid reporting accurately and within Head Office deadlines
- Maintain and support Stock Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Present stock metrics during morning briefings
- Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge across all departments
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships by responding to requests and service issues in a timely manner
- Coordinate with Product Coordinators, IT Coordinators, and Management Controllers
- Assist on the retail floor during peak trading periods
- Participate in staff training programmes and assist in coaching colleagues on stock control best practices
- Adhere to Hermès brand dress code, grooming, and conduct standards
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of company commercial activities
Qualifications
- Experience in a retail or stock-related environment
- Proven organisational skills and reliability
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with EPOS systems, Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Office
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Capability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
