Hermès Madison Boutique seeks Senior Floor Director in New York to lead boutique floor operations, merchandising strategy and team leadership across luxury métier categories.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for various métiers, ensuring alignment with boutique goals to drive growth, enhance customer experience, develop the team and achieve financial targets
- Serve as Maison Ambassador and provide consistent day-to-day supervision of daily business operations, client experience and client relationship building, leading by example and ensuring excellent client service
- Maintain consistent floor presence and work in partnership with the store leadership team
- Manage métier development, growth and merchandising for assigned areas of responsibility; identify and address business opportunities, communicate daily stock needs and sell-through performance with Managing Director, Operations Management and Merchant teams
- Manage product assortment at store level and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels
- Prepare for and attend bi-annual Podium and Preview buying sessions; hold full responsibility for attendance preparation and buying decisions for corresponding métier areas
- Partner in planning and execution of product placement, floor moves, pop-up opportunities and ensure visual merchandising standards are met
- Serve as strategic team motivator and analyst; identify and communicate business and product opportunities in an analytical manner
- Prepare and provide budget analysis, sales mix, product assortment recommendations and business strategies to drive incremental improvement in overall results
- Maintain consistent communication with Managing Director and store management team regarding performance and opportunities
- Provide weekly reporting of sales, sell-through data, on-hand quantities, product needs and opportunities; present business updates at leadership meetings including sales performance by group and métier, team highlights, issues and business reviews
- Oversee recruitment, talent selection, onboarding and ongoing performance development of direct reports; provide leadership guidance to Floor Directors on métier development opportunities, reporting tools and business analysis
- Plan weekly leadership and team meeting agendas; prepare and deliver annual performance appraisals; address performance issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate inventory preparation and cycle counts in partnership with Floor Directors and Operations Team; reconcile discrepancies
- Represent store leadership in the absence of the Managing Director; maintain oversight of support and security team productivity and policy adherence
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of store management experience or flagship Assistant Store Manager experience
- Demonstrated previous buying experience relative to floor and métier responsibility
- Proven ability to manage and motivate multi-person teams
- Prior reporting and presenting functions to Executive management and Merchant levels
- Strong project management and team leadership capabilities with proven mentoring track record
- Ability to balance creativity with effective business management and sustainable growth
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability and effective time management
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in delivering presentations, leading store meetings and engaging with Commercial Directors and Executive visitors
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes
- Comfortable with calculations, formulas and financial analysis
- Critical and creative thinking capabilities
- Ability to manage stress and maintain composure whilst multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Experience
Minimum three years of store management experience or equivalent flagship-level Assistant Store Manager experience in a luxury retail environment, with demonstrated success in leading multi-person teams and managing budgetary responsibilities. Prior experience in buying operations relative to assigned floor categories is essential. Proven track record of presenting to and reporting to Executive management and Merchant-level stakeholders.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred but not required if substantive relevant experience is demonstrated.
