Hermès seeks Senior Designer Lifestyle in Pantin. Lead Women's Ready-to-Wear design, manage collection development and supplier partnerships.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head Designer and Lifestyle category colleagues to develop creative concepts and refine design proposals for presentation to creative leadership
  • Conduct iconographic and vintage research to inform collection ideation and establish compelling visual narratives across seasonal offerings
  • Propose innovative forms and finishes through mockup development, vintage manipulation, and collage techniques, leveraging 3D digital tools to advance creative intent
  • Master material properties and technical specifications, proposing finishes that align seamlessly with garment construction and fabric characteristics
  • Execute precise technical sketches to substantiate creative intentions and ensure continuous design updates throughout the development cycle
  • Develop complex pattern construction collaboratively with the internal workshop and ensure comprehensive handover to subcontractors for manufacturing
  • Create collection syntheses organized by theme—including mood boards, collection plans, and technical specifications—to guide cohesive brand messaging
  • Anticipate and manage development timelines in alignment with collection schedules, ensuring seamless information flow and quality assurance with product managers and external manufacturers
  • Guarantee category excellence by maintaining rigorous oversight of cutting, construction techniques, and detail craftsmanship
  • Integrate model positioning into creative development through collaborative work with product managers to ensure strategic market alignment
  • Oversee placement of prints and embellishments across category models; refine artwork and propose innovative placement techniques and applications including embroidery and patching
  • Prepare and anticipate fittings with the Head Designer and product managers; participate actively and ensure daily updates across all planning tools
  • Serve as steward of fitting session organization and execution
  • Travel to fabric shows and manufacturer facilities in coordination with the Materials Development team to source innovations, monitor model advancement, and deepen understanding of creative intentions
  • Monitor material selections and propose technical solutions, adapted finishes, and innovative placement proposals

Qualifications

  • Approximately 8–10 years of confirmed professional experience as a stylist, ideally within Ready-to-Wear Lifestyle categories
  • Solid expertise in volume, materials, construction, and finishing techniques; foundational knowledge of pattern-making and garment construction
  • Demonstrated mastery of graphic expression through drawing and placement of prints and embroidery
  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Procreate, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge of CLO 3D and Rhino 3D is advantageous
  • Collaborative spirit and excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to elevate team contributions
  • Clear understanding of Hermès design language and sensitivity to the Maison's creative DNA
  • Creative sensibility and robust fashion knowledge; intellectually curious with an open mindset
  • Proven capacity to prioritize competing demands whilst adhering to strict timelines and maintaining high quality standards
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented approach to project management
